Second printing ("(2)" on the last page of the text) of a popular narrative of the second Asiatic expedition of the American Museum of Natural History in 1918-1919. The author writes in the Preface, "The present book is the narrative of our work and travels. ... I have written it entirely from the sportsman's standpoint and have purposely avoided scientific details which would prove uninteresting or wearisome to the general public" (p. vii). Extensively illustrated with 40 black and white photos on the frontispiece and 15 double-sided plates printed on glossy stock. The pictures were taken by Yvette Borup Andrews, the author's wife, who served as the photographer for the expedition. 

Hardcover bound in navy cloth over boards with the title and illustration in bright gilt on the front cover and title in somewhat dulled gilt on the spine. The cloth is worn at the corners, with the board peeking through, and with wear at the head and foot of the spine with some small tears at the head and wear with some loss at the foot.

The text block is tight, bright and unmarked, though the heavy paper is slightly toned from age. There is a label for McClelland & Co. Booksellers, Columbus, Ohio, at the bottom corner of the inside front cover.

No foxing in this copy. The top page edges are slightly gray from exposure. The side page edges are clean and the bottom page edges are generally clean, but with some small dark smudges.
