Bunn is in the Basketball Hall of Fame, which annually presents the John Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award in his honor. He began his career, playing and coaching under Phog Allen at the University of Kansas and went on to coach at Stanford, Springfield College and Colorado State College. He is considered an innovator in the game, credited, among other rules changes, with the elimination of the center jump following a field goal in 1937.

Text block is tight and bright, but the previous owner has underlined in green and red marker on 22 of the first 25 pages. The text is unmarked after page 25. All edges are clear and bright, however, the previous owner has written his last name on the side page edges in large block letters.
