An early work by Roberts while he was still writing for the Saturday Evening Post and one that he came to regret for its positive treatment of Italian Fascism, arguing it was a more "beneficial" movement than its "perversion" in Hitler's National Socialism.

Text block is bright, unmarked and tight, though the hinges are slightly shaken.

Bound in black textured cloth with faded gilt title on spine and brighter gilt title and fasces (axe bound with sticks), which was a ancient Roman symbol adopted by Mussolini . No foxing in this copy. Previous owner's signature in pencil on the front free endpaper. Deckled edges (rough cut). One page of the text has been ripped in half across the middle of the page, though both pieces are present.
