The text block is tight bright and unmarked. The first and last page (the half title and printing notice) have some spotting and lines in a light brown (looking almost like birch bark), but all of the pages in between are clean and the colors are strong. Bound in illustrated textured paper over boards with red cloth for the spine. The paper is worn around the edges and the covers are grubby with some foxing. The boards are exposed at the top corners. The hinges are tight with green endpapers illustrated with red line drawings based on illustrations in the text.
